Jimmy Carr: One of the most original and distinctive new stars on television, radio, stage and now the big screen, Jimmy has shown his talents to huge success this year. A 2nd and 3rd series of 8 out of 10 Cats are now confirmed for 2006. He has appeared on many other hit shows such as the Royal Variety Show (for the 2nd time), BBC1s Friday Night with Jonathon Ross, BBC2s Top Gear, QI, Have I got news for you (panellist and guest hosting) and hosted several specials such as C4s The Big Fat End of Year Quiz and Comedians Comedian. Jimmys C4 hit series of Distraction (2 series on C4) was picked up by Comedy Central in America, for whom he has recorded two series of Distraction USA, with the second series currently on air. This is in addition to a half-hour stand up special for the same network. Although Jimmys profile is more as a television personality he started out and continues to be a very talented stand-up comedian. Jimmys first live show Bare Faced Ambition gained him a Perrier Nomination in 2002. national sell-out tours quickly followed with Charm Offensive in 2003 and Public Display of Affection in 2004. Jimmy continues his tour of Off The Telly, which kicked off with a sold-out run at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival and 2 sell-out nights at the Hammersmith Apollo in December. Jimmy is now preparing for his next live stand-up show, Gag Reflex, to kick off at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival and tour after that in national theatres. Jimmys first DVD has now sold over 150,000 copies and his second stand-up DVD has overtaken this already. Jimmy will soon be seen on the big screen, having recently completed three films: Confetti, Alien Autopsy and Storm Breaker, all released in 2006. He can be heard on London 104.9 XFM every Sunday morning where he presents the breakfast show from 10:00am to midday. He is also a regular guest and interviewer on Loose Ends (Radio 4) and The Fred McCauley Show (BBC Radio Scotland). As would be expected of a comedian with a soaring international profile, Jimmy also performs at the 2 key comedy festivals: he returns to the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival for the third time, in July 2006, and in Aspen at the International Comedy Arts Festival.
