Sound Meditation in the Garden
Join the SF Botanical Garden for a sound meditation workshop. A sound meditation is a live sound experience where participants lie down and listen to meditative instruments. Imagine lying on the grass, outdoors in the beautiful gardens while listening to quartz crystal singing bowls and specially tuned gongs. Close your eyes and experience effortless relaxation of the body while simultaneously restoring the nervous system in a natural way. These unique instruments slow down your brainwaves to meditative-like states through a process called entrainment that have the potential to: Create sustained harmony of the body and mind Release emotional stress and physical tension Receive spontaneous insight and heightened intuition Soothe and balance your nervous system Unlock creative potential and journey into your own imagination Participants simply lie back and listen to a live concert of sound and vibration, no yoga is practiced. For a more relaxing experience, please bring a pillow, something to lie down on, and 2-3 blankets. About the Presenter Melissa Felsenstein is a certified 750 hr yoga therapist and sound practitioner. A self-proclaimed “reformed” relaxer, Melissa focuses her work on restoring the nervous system through the use of live sound with quartz crystal singing bowls and specifically tuned gongs. Melissa used these unique instruments as therapeutic tools to rid herself of severe anxiety and depression.
